ANITA PELTONEN

PHOTOJOURNALIST

ABOUT

ANITA PELTONEN

A native of New York City, Anita Peltonen has moved a lot: Montreal; Helsinki; London; NYC again, then upstate.

For decades a reporter, editor, and foreign correspondent, Peltonen is working in photojournalism---in order to  move beyond documenting the world in words alone.

Peltonen's project Finding Home surveys the human quest for shelter and a sense of safety. In it, she hopes to show how the places we live and people/animals/ objects we surround ourselves with assert our need for comfort, in bad times and good.

Anita Peltonen's photos are in The New York Times, F-STOP Magazine, the Duncan Miller Gallery, Humble Arts Foundation NY, International Center of Photography publications, and more.
